Humanscale Liberty any good?

I am looking for a new chair to go into an office/spare room we are putting together (even building my own large murphy desk so the spare bed has room to pull out).

Because it is also a spare room, the Mrs insists the chair must look nice in the room, especially from the back.

One chair I have found refurbished and in budget (<£400) is the Humanscale Liberty mesh back.

Both me and Mrs like the look of the chair, and reviews seem good as well. I will be the one using it for home working and gaming (5ft11", 70kg).

Just wondered if anyone had other suggestions before I take the plunge. There are no office shops near me to try these otherwise.

Ta.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I too am considering a used Liberty. How are you getting on with it?

Really happy with the chair overall and still using it. It matches my set-up too which is a bonus. Only negative so far is that the top corners of the backrest, where the mesh attaches, the covers for the screws has broken off on one side, and cracked on the other. A minor defect, but not one I would expect from a premium office chair.

Thanks for replying!

Would you say the chair is comfortable sitting in it for a couple of hours at a time?

I am off to IKEA tomorrow to try some chairs but I fully expect to come home and buy a used Liberty as a basic IKEA chair is now half the price of the used Liberty.

I use the chair for home office working, so sit in it for long periods of time. So yes, definitely a good chair for a good few hours at a time. Would still recommend getting up and walking about occasionally for any chair though.
