Hi all,

Humble Bundle have two training packages for programming, one for Unity and one for Unreal Engine. I want to do this with my 14 year old son - so any recommendations on which I should take? We're newbies so it's more to get him programming rather than producing AAA titles.

Cheers

While they both do things differently, for learning they're probably much the same. Both will teach you some variant of C however UE has the Blueprint engine for doing more common but still complex scripting in a node-based UI (not sure if unity has this now). While Unity games can look AAA and there's tons of free & cheap assets out there for both engines, UE will look AAA with the least effort if you need that motivation for learning.

I would judge it on the perceived quality of the learning materials personally, as that's where you're going to reside the most. Fundamentally both engines function in similar ways.
