I have been thinking about getting one for my bedroom/flat as I am quite prone to getting bugs in winter and often feel the air is really dry, especially in the morning.

I do have plants in my room and around the flat, leave the bathroom door open after showers, etc, but feel I'd benefit from a humidifier every now and again.

THinking of https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vicks-VH75...d=1513554738&sr=8-1&keywords=vicks+humidifier, which I could also use with menthol pads if I catch a cold (sadly too often due a a weakened immune system).

Any recommendations or opinions?

Although, will initially try some damp cloth solution if the humidity is low,

looking further at machines -
the vickes ones though have some bad/leaking reviews,
and seems to be a dilema that the warm moist air ones distribute the moisture better & use a bit more electric (it warms the room)
whereas the cold ones seem to have replaceaable filters and need less cleaning to avoid bacteria distribution (so best for babies)

calibration method

Thanks for that; will give it a go!

The hygrometer was a great idea. Turns out my flat is already at the sweet spot of 50-55% (latter after a shower when I leave the door open). I ordered the Vicks warm air humidifier anyway, as I might keep it for occasional use if I'm unwell (as only £25).
