Humm from Panny G20?

Hi, a friend has bought a new panny g20 46" TV, it gives off a buzzing noise from the built in tuner which can get louder depending on the colours on screen. Anyone else heard of this?
 
ah strange, I have an older panny plasma and have no noise other than the slight fan noise. He's thinking of returning it as it's audible over the sound at 6" away.
 
Hmm mine (G10) isnt noticeable with a bit of TV volume, sounds like his may just be a bad example. Tell him to get it looked at.
 
The engineer came out and said it was in spec then left, he's now left with the decision to return it and try another, I think he's still just inside the return period.
 
Then if hes unsure, tell him to swap it asap. Nothing worse than keeping something you have regrets about, especially with purchases like this.
 
I've never noticed it on the 42" G10, but the 65" professional plasma displays at work are really noticeable on light colours.

Suppose it teaches people a lesson on why they shouldn't use white as their presentation background!


If it's really bad I'd be getting it swapped/refunded ASAP, as it won't really get any better.
 
Known issue with some G20s - get it swapped and should get one without it.

Ive had a few Panny plasmas and none have hummed, strangely the 27" Tosh LCD i have in the bedroom does buzz on white, on a full screen of bright image its very audible and annoying !
 
My PX80 buzz's a lot with really bright scenes. Give it a bit of a smack on the top of the bezel and it goes away.
