I am using Windows 7 with a pair of Yamaha HS80m monitors in a home studio running cubase 5.
However, I am getting a weird hum from the speakers under certain circs.
I don't think its the speakers themselves as I've tried them on my mate's mac and no hum. I also don't think its the sound card as I've tried another sound card and the hum is still there.
Now here's the strange part.
When not much ram/cpu is being used, I don't get the hum. However, as soon as I start cubase up or any other more cpu intensive program, I get the hum.
However, and weirder still, when I fire up Prime95 so my cpu and ram is under full load, the hum stops again.
Any help would be much appreciated, it's driving me mad.
