Is it indie nonsense or is it worth a watch? I just got my ass handed to me with 2 hours of Time Bandits. Its got really good reviews but anyone actually seen it?

I remember watching Time Bandits at my kid's age and thought it was fantastic. My kids on the other hand, hated it. I'm in the film dog house, quite frankly.
the kid kills his parents at the end.
