got a bit of a decision to make, just bought a new bed and mattress this morning, now need a new duvet.

£164 = 90% Hungarian Goose Down and 10% Hungarian Goose Feather

£240 = 100% Hungarian Goose Down (the best duvet money can buy)

do you think its worth £76 just to get that extra 10% or should i just go with the 90% option

go for the 100% they are amazing, they last forever as well... the one my parents have got is as old as me... washes well too

Stelly

10% feathers just mean that the fill power is less than 100% down, so you're getting less loft/insulating properties for the same weight of down. For a bed in a heated house don't worry about it.

I've got two Hungarian Goose Down pillows beneath my head every night and they are ridiculously comfortable to sleep on. However the duvet just lies on top of you and its feel is therefore slightly elss important imo, so I would say it wasn't worth it.

its got nothing to do with feel mate, its all about weight. the more down the less it weighs, therefore the duvet will be lighter feeling like a cloud on top of you, i was just wondering whether its worth going for the 100% since the price difference for 100% is quite big compared to 90%

It's 10%. I'm pretty sure you probably won't be able to tell the difference.

It has got something to do with feel because its weight affects how it feels.

I wouldn't say the weight difference between 90% and 100% down was important, unless you are a microscopic animal and feel that a 90% down duvet will simply be too much force for your fragile skeletal structure to take.

Nobody knows how much cash you have "mate" so just make your own mind up. Have you for example tried these duvets out to see how much difference it makes to you, since you are the one that's going to be sleeping under it?

i suppose that does sound right, well ive just forked out on a new bed and mattress, the bed frame wasnt cheap, but i didnt like the look of the cheaper options, plus its from a reliable and trustworthy company. so i was just checking to see if there would be much difference in a 90% and 100% duvet because when i compared the prices £76 is a lot of money for 10% more when 90% costs you £164. well the general consensus seems that its not worth it for the extra 10%.

i just checked the website more clearly and yes they are washable, easy thing to miss.

i'll go for the 90% duvet then, now i just need to figure out what pillows i want :D

The 100% is indeed amazing, lightweight and extremely warm. It’s either the real thing or nothing. :)

Go for the 100%, if you don't you'll just want a 100% in the future.. and then youve spent a lot more..

I would rather spend the dosh on something else and buy a £15 king size 13.5 tog from Wilko's but spend your money however you like.

I bet the goose down one feels great though, I can almost hear the crunchy sound as you gather a chunk up in your hands.
