I'm flying into Budapest on the 1st April and out of Sofia on the 18th.

My rough route is:
Budapest
Belgrade
Sarajevo
Montenegro
Prishtina
Sofia

Though, as long as I end up in Sofia on the 18th then I can go anywhere, as appreciate the above is quite a fair bit to do.

Has anyone been to any of these places, and got any tips? I'm going alone, and I like food, wine, beer, art, natural beauty and war stuff.

In Sarajevo you should go eat Ćevapi and try some coffee and deserts. The best place for that is in the old town (cobblestone streets).

As for alcohol, ask for rakia (pronounced exactly like written) to put more hair on the chest.

Just got back from a 4 days trip to budapest with the Mrs. As previously suggested in a similar thread I made asking for tips I would recommend the following:-

http://www.celeritas-sch.com/ Did the basic package with the Mrs wasnt in there too long and fired everything from a pistol to an AK47 with live rounds. Very noob friendly instructors and no one died.
Did our first michelin star restaurant called Costes but if youre travelling alone not sure on this one. Also ate at Konvybar and Zeller bistro but you have to book in advance as its very popular places to eat.
Dont get scammed by unlicensed taxis.
I noticed wine tasting places cant be hard to find on tripadvisor.
If any fit lady approaches you and tries to eventually get you into a bar buying her expensive drinks dont do it its a scam you wont get pasty.
The spas are meant to be very good in budapest they are natural but we didnt do that.
There are hundreds of airbnb but we went for a hotel because the mrs is a snob.

Budapest is a stunning place for architecture. It was a lot warmer than we expected, I took jeans and jumpers expecting a winter Prague like temperature but I think we just got exremely lucky, not to tell you how to suck eggs, but check the weather prior to packing.

The underground system is quite oldy worldy (which I quite liked) but still efficient and can get you to Heroes Square easily, behind the square is a nice park if you fancy a wonder.

Central Market Hall is more like a market for locals, fruit and veg stalls etc, but they do have some hot counter types around the top which looked good!

Most restaraunts serve Goulash I think. It's delicous, a must try!
