I may be applying for a apprenticeship in Peterborough. I live in St. Ives

Does anyone travel this route?

You can check the AA route planner for the roads i may be travelling. http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/planner_main.jsp

PE27 to PE2 9DY

If its anything like getting to cambridge via the A14 then ill give it a miss :p

Everytime i travel down the A1M its great, its the best motorway ive been on but dont know what its like during rush hour

Thanks

To be honest I didn't have that much problem on the A14 in rush hour from Cambridge to St. Ives. You could always use the back roads?

i used to do just south of cambridge to peterborough, to be honest the bit from huntingdon onwards, just going a14/a1(m) was the easiest part of the route, it does depend where you're heading in peterborough as the school traffic can be a killer, do you have to be there 9-5? as if you can say do 8-4 it's massively quicker

while the a14 is a truely terrible road in next to every sense (most congested a road in the country at several times i believe) around huntingdon it's only really bad going towards cambridge, going away is reasonably ok

st. ives junction is a mare at the moment becuase earith is flooded. ANy ammount of travel on the A14 is guaranteed to cause you misery. I only travel along it for 6 miles and it can often take an hour

Thanks for the information i travel from st. ives to cambridge 3 times a week and its always held up. Ridiculous

as i said, it's considerably busier going to cambridge than from (not that it's quiet going away, just nowhere near as bad)

easy - take the road up past the marina, on the bypass, over the roundabout near tesco, at spittals onto the A14 heading towards peterborough then its plain sailing the rest of the way :D

nowhere near as bad as going to cambridge
