Surprised there isn't a thread already, as this thing is bloody massive.

My parents were due to be going to Charleston today but that's not happening, but they are going to stay in Charlotte for a couple of days then go down to Atlanta.

It looks like it's going to hang right on the coast for a good 2 days and the warmer seas by the coast could strengthen it more before it hits.

I’ve been following this as I’m flying to the states today. Looks like it could be grim.

It’s interesting that a little bit of us is in awe of these catastrophic events.

Mike’s weather page has been pretty awesome for this.

Our head office is in Boston and whilst it should be fairly safe, most of our colleagues out there are bricking it, this one could get very nasty. Good luck to all those affected.

Was in Disney for Irma last year did plenty of damage that far in really feel sorry for poor guys in South and North Carolina. We ened up with huge tree on our balcony at Animal kingdom lodge.

I hope CNN are covering this one. The last one they covered, they got it all wrong. But it was funny to watch :D

Been following it a bit - a real wildcard this one with so many foreseeable but uncertain factors that could significantly dilute or strengthen it before landfall.

Wow - that looks massive!

Good job there's no global warming - imagine how bad it would be then !

(wondering what it will take for Trump to start accepting the facts)
