No it's CNN they are always a bunch of drama queens for the BIGGER drama queens that watch them and believe them.

It's going to be a Tropical Storm by the time it gets to Tampa.

Are you seriously going to go out and say "it's going to be a Tropical Storm when it gets to Tampa…then a bunch of people might go out and walk their dogs, or do you play it safe, given what data you have?

Its the biggest baddest storm ever... as it landed on american soil.

The one in Haiti, Cuba and all the little islands was just a small wind.

Well you seam to know so tell me with a link. Because other stations are reporting nothing as bad a s CNN.
StormTracker 10\Dopplers are not showing what CNN are reporting.

I'm still waiting for the 15ft wave to come up that street.

How about the National Hurricane Centre?

"The threat of catastrophic storm surge flooding is highest along the southwest coast of Florida, where 10 to 15 feet of inundation above ground level is expected," the hurricane center said. "This is a life-threatening situation."

Not looking likely, 55mph gusts here already, news (ABC, stop watching CNN, it's bull...) are reporting hurricane force winds from 10pm onwards.

Not much to update, I have a new found respect for wind, even 50mph gusts are taking branches down around me.

It's going east, we'll still get hurricane force winds but luckily not the eye anymore.

So after all that from CNN no 15ft wave going to come down that street

If you had watched any other news channel, you would have seen they were reporting the same thing, since the info was coming from the meterologists ;)

So nothing to do with any news channels spin from CNN, Fox, BBC etc

Now Category 1 with soon-to-be downgraded to Tropical Storm.
American soil is lucky that these don't hit more often than not.

After Irma, how long will Florida be recovering and how much will the properties cost there? Guess the willingness of potential buyers for houses there would dramatically drop?

Thanks for that, I have a bunch of friends in the U.S., including a
couple of families in Florida, you are a cretin of the first order.
It's like me as a Londoner, saying I don't like northerners, which
ISN'T true, so I've no sympathy for Mancunians after the bomb at
the Manchester Arena, who, in what world, would say that?

You can't use that as an example, look at the USA pumping out the crap into the air, big gas guzzlers cars and trucks, factory's, refineries and so on. nature is of course not standing for it, global weather conditions messed right up most probably by a big chunk of the yanks and China pollution, these country's really need to take a look at themselves, for what others do is all cancelled out by the big two.
