Can anyone recommend a good backpack for a mirrorless camera system with a few (up to 3) smallish lenses?

I'm going travelling and I'd like something that can be used as a day pack, with a separately accessible camera compartment. Also I don't want it to be giant and DSLR size, although it must also be able to accommodate an 11inch laptop, external hard drive and a bottle of water. It must also be waterproof or come with a rain cover.

Worst case I'll just get a backpack and stick a separate camera bag in there but I'd like something purpose built if possible for accessibility.

I have a lowepro photo hatchback 15L and a Lowepro flipside sport 20L

The hatchback is split into 2 compartments, one padded for camera gear and one for other stuff which also has a mesh and a zipped part for small items, it has a sleeve for tablets and maybe a book or paperwork but could be too small for a laptop, it has 2 elastic side nettings for holding water bottles, etc

I really do like this bag for general walkabouts, I can fit a d800 with lens attached and another lens in the padded area , this padded part is accessed on the side that goes against your back so it adds a bit more security to your gear and can also be removed to use the bag without camera gear. There is also a 22L version which may have more room in the tablet compartment , possibly enough for a small laptop

The flipside sport 20L

This is just for gear and again accessible only from the back , it will hold a large tablet and quite a lot of kit ,plenty of separates are provided, I only take this out when I need lots of gear and don't plan on walking far

Thanks for the tips all.

Lowepro is coming up a lot but they don't seem to have anything that properly meets my needs. Possibly the flipside sport but at £100+ it's not for me. I think £60 is my maximum and that's possibly pushing it (sorry - should have said before). Lowepro's bag finder was no help at all unfortunately.

Away from lowepro anyone? I should also say I really want something with two straps rather than a sling or messenger. This thing is going to need to last 6 months+ of daily hard travel.

thanks again

Osprey Talon 22. No, it's not a dedicated camera bag but will be far comfier than any camera backpack... I use it as my travel bag all the time with D7000 and several lenses. I made a soft pouch out of foam and fabric which sits in the bottom of the bag for protection.

Unfortunately you're unlikely to find anything that will work, I've been looking for the same for years and haven't got there yet...
