Hybrid PhysX

Yeah its been working for a long while. Good idea if you have/want an AMD card and you are really bothered about physx.

You can usually get an AMD card and a second hand card for physx for the same price as the equivalent Nvidia card.

Not sure if you guys have seen this but looks superb. Pair Amd card up with an Nvidia card for PhysX. I cant test because only have One card, But from what am reading its working.

Excuse me if im wrong but from what ive seen of Physx its a load of guff and crappy effects.

I remember being so disappointed when i saw what it added to mafia 2.

Have things changed?

It does look nice in the games that support it, but those titles are few and you can live without it.

If BF3 supported physx i'd get it :D

Some people think its rubbish, but some people like it.
It was crap in mafia 2 though, but some of the effects in borderlands 2 look ok.

If you dont like the physx effects then you arent missing out on anything :)

This is just for the few AMD users who do want it.

Also, the nvidias New Dawn demo is working on AMD cards now too :D

If it added something decent id consider getting it, as long as i could do it with a cheap low end nvidia card.

I've seen nothing to make me want it though, and what i have seen is laughable.

I agree on the whole :)

Some effects in batman AC are nice though

The effects are nice, but you only have to look at the likes of BF3, or latest incarnation of the Frostbite engine to realise that a GPU isn't needed for that level of effects.

There's nothing really "wrong" with "PhysX" itself, just how it's used, as well as less than 10% of "PhysX" games even use GPU acceleration.

I think a lot of people who like PhysX don't realise that fact, and just see a game using "PhysX" means it's hardware GPU accelerated physics.

I dont think you even need that much of a powerful card for it. He list a Nvidia GeForce8000 witch you can get for about £20 odd :D For that price I think this is very good.
