Hi guys, was wondering if you could shed some light on hybrid sleep.

I know what it is, what I want to know is do you lot use it, do you recommend using it (laptop primarily), and why.

Many thanks

I turn it off for SSDs. No need for it. For HDDs on the other hand it does significantly improve the boot time. I do notice however that I will need to reboot the PC if it starts acting a bit strange after a few days.

What's the rest of the specs? CPU doesn't really affect hybrid sleep, it's more about the storage type. SSDs are so fast hybrid sleep doesn't really do anything, HDDs on the other hand can benefit from it.

I3 3110m, 4 GB ram, 500GB mechanical hdd, windows 10.

From googling why is hybrid sleep disabled by default, I can't see any downsides to it and it gives the best of both worlds between sleep and hibernate...

Hybrid sleep turns off the pc, but keeps the memory active and stores the windows session in the memory. So when you switch on the pc, it only takes 3-5secs to come on. I use it all the time, even that I have a SSD. Because resuming from hybrid sleep is still much faster then booting up windows even with a SSD. I just reboot windows every week or so.
