Hydro H80 Socket 2011 compatibility

Hi,

I bought a H80 about 5 months ago before 2011 was out and im unsure if its compatible.

The ones on OCUK selling now say it is but how do i tell if my older one is?

Should be an extra notch on the back plate for 2011, got mine about 3 months ago and its 2011 compatible. If its not I'm sure corsair will provide you with one

I was under the impression that 2011 was the same mounting as 1366? maybe im wrong

I'm not even sure 2011 needs a backplate? Now that I think of it, you may just get a set of alternate studs for mounting onto 2011...

If you look closely at the socket the cooler mounting holes are no longer direct pass through, the cooler needs to be fastened directly to the socket.

If your H80 doesn't come with the 2011 studs, give me a shout via trust and you can have mine, I'd be changing cooler before I change socket

I looked up my old order of my H80 and this was early 2010 and it said 2011 completable.

I done this as i am moving from LGA775 to 1155 and have the H80 so all should be good.

I didn't think the H80 was launched until mid 2011 :confused:
