Hi,
I can create a fully working OpenStack deployment with the following setup in VMware Workstation:
1 x DevStack VM @ 16Gb RAM
3 x Ceph Storage nodes @ 8Gb RAM ea
2 x KVM Compute nodes @ 8Gb RAM ea
Total = 56Gb RAM
What would I need to run a similar environment for Hyper-V and VMware? This would include System Center / vRealise, not sure how many VM's would be needed or their basic RAM requirements, would use things like the vCenter appliance where possible. Shared storage would be provided via VSAN (VMware) and Cluster Shared Volumes (Windows).
I've got a 5820 CPU and am thinking to upgrade to 128Gb RAM and a 2TB SSD to get the other labs up-and-running. I've got MSDN access and VMware licence keys as needed.
My new job requires integrating the company product into these kind of environments, there will be labs @ work to use but I'd also like to have my own setup.
