Hi,

Does anyone have the hyper X cloud headphones?

I just read the sticky thread on these forums and it seems that the headset seems decent for the price but would like to see if anyone has them?

I fancy a better headset because I have a pair of turtle beach x12 at the moment and they aren't bad, after paying £20 for them as a quick replacement haha.
There's a deal with this hyper X set going as well

Lots of people have them.

I had the cloud II's for testing before selling to a friend.

I've answered your questions :P

However I am guessing you want to know whether they are good and a worthy upgrade. I personally thought they were very good sounding for music and games and weren't utterly trounced by the £100+ Sennheiser headphones I normally wear. The soundcard that came with the II version was also great in stereo, with 7.1 sounding like trash as it always has, does and will do.

I can tell you that the mic was excellent on the II and so was comfort but both were upgraded between the generations so can't comment on the cloud 1.

From what I know and have heard about Turtlebeach, a power drill to the ear canal would provide a better audio experience so the Clouds would be a great upgrade.

Haha would have been a bit funny if you just left it as that.

That's great help thanks Disco, at the moment ocuk are Doug a £20 voucher on them as well so they are about £50 which is a bargain. But I think it's only for the cloud 1 edition.

I do have a sound card, it's an asus xonar 7.1. So would this help with the headset?

Yeah, my turtle beach was a quick replacement and clearly aimed for a young audience haha

The clouds are THE recommended headset below £100 on the forums.

They are based on the Takstar pro 80 headphone, which is well regarded in the under £100 range, which is why they sound better with music than most other headsets.

What are the better headphones?
The hyper cloud 1 or 2?

The only things I've read are that be 2 version is better for comfort and the mic is better. Obv it has 7.1 surround but it's not meant to be any good.

Seems like the 1st version would be better for the money.

It seems that the sound adapted isn't very good? I have my own sound card anyway so surely that would help more. It's the asus xonar 7.1 DX.

I do use my mic a lot and the mic on the hpx 2 is meant to better

X Cloud I doesn't have the USB sound adapter, it is just headset and 3.5mm connections...it is the X Cloud II that introduced that.

The X Cloud I actually has longer 3.5mm cables due to the absence of the USB box thing.

@Marine-rx - Which one would you go for? I like the idea of X cloud 2 having the sound adapter for better mic and 7.1. But the 7.1 is meant to be awful.

I think I'm going to go or the X Cloud 1

Taking the USB sound adapter out of the equation, the Cloud 2 and Cloud 1 are pretty much the same, with the exception that the sound quality of the mic on the Cloud 2 seem to be better according to users/reviews.

If you are going to connect the 3.5mm headphone and mic to your sound card directly, I am not sure if the Cloud 2's cable would be long enough after you removed the USB adapter (if you PC is on the floor).

If you don't worry too much about the sound quality of the mic, then just go for Cloud 1.

You can turn the 7.1 off on the cloud 2 USB soundcard. It then sounds very good for music and games.

I brought the hyper cloud 1 as I can imagine my asus xonar 7.1 DX would actually be better for surround. I always forget that my soundcard has 7.1 Dolby surround sound support haha.

It was either the hyper cloud 2 for £70 or hyper loud 1 for £46. Can't go wrong with £46 :).

Thanks for your help guys.
