Hypermemory? No Thanks

I have a 3870 in my desktop, 512Mb, with 4Gb ram. When looking in CCC I just noticed that it's reporting I have 2303MB memory, using hypermemory.

I don't really think that's necessary, and just a waste of RAM really, so, does anyone know how to disable/change this?

Thanks.

it will only eat into the RAM when it needs a bit more of buffer for a game....when you aren't gaming it won't use your system memory.

I assume so, but that would be 2303+512mb onboard vram.....at 1680x1050 with 16xAF and 8xAA most games don't even use over 512mb so I wouldn't worry about it eating into system resources significantly.

I'm only running 1440x900 at the moment, so I was just a little surprised when I saw that number in CCC when only at the desktop.

Thanks for the help :)

Cool. After installing ATi's new driver today i discovered my 3870 did that too. It said 1 Gig. But then again i only have 1.5 gig in right now (going to buy 4 gig on sunday)
