Hi all, I have both of the above connected to the pc but somehow, the speakers aren't being recognised in the play back devices panel.
Any idea on how to get these two working in harmony without unplugging cables everytime I want to switch audio device?

Cloud II being USB, Windows will make them the default audio device when you plug them in. You should be able to just switch the default to the onboard audio or sound card (whichever you are using) in the sound properties.

Strange though, you say they are not being recognised. Do you mean that the green jack icon is greyed out in the Realtek control panel (assuming your onboard is Realtek) when the speakers are plugged in?

Yeah, they're not coming up on the list of playback devices at all.
Even showing disabled devices doesn't do anything.

I don't mind changing in the settings when I want to use one device but unplugging and plugging is just too much hassle.

You mention that they (Edifier speakers) are not coming up in the list of play back devices. You won't actually see 'Edifier' listed there because it's just an analogue connection. Windows cannot know what is connected to the onboard audio because there is no 'identification' like you get when connecting a digital device. You might already be aware of that, I don't know.

If you have Realtek audio, then you should see that listed. Commonly listed as 'Realtek speakers' for the analogue output connections. When any USB device is connected, Windows will default to that. If you are expecting to see 'Edifier speakers' listed, than that's why it isn't there. You need to set 'Realtek speakers' as default, if that's what it's called.

Yeah I know what you mean.
But I only get 4 options, 1 being the HyperX Cloud 2 and the other 3 are NVidia HDMI Output.

I manage to sort it out.
Somehow on board was disabled in the bios.
O just switch them in the play back devices.
Thanks
