A friend just bought a set of these for some CoD IW on his new laptop and he's pretty sniffy about audio quality and doesn't think they're half bad for the cost!

He has some much nicer cans he uses for normal listening and these are just as comfortable to wear - I did try them on quickly but not sure about for a long gaming session.

Was tempted by them myself and still might get a set so would be interesting to know what others think.

They are based on the Takstar Pro 80 headphones, which are well respected at the budget end of the headphone market.

Just tried them on my work machine and listening to some music. I am very impressed! The sound is clear and crisp and has great bass but not over-powering. The USB 7.1 soundcard is plug and play, no need to hunt down drivers. They are the most comfortable headphones I have owned. They fit my slightly large ears quite comfortably with a good seal (unlike my previous ones which jutted out at the bottom, leaking sound. It feels very comfortable and I suspect extended gaming sessions should be easier on my head now!

I will try the division later and see how well the positional audio works.

Personally, ditch the USB soundcard, it does the cans a disservice in my opinion. The virtual surround is really not all that.

Pair them with a soundcard or Amp in stereo and see them fly.

Virtual surround is a bit hit and miss, different algorithms work for different people (with different ear geometry), so while it might not work well for Gimpymoo, it might work very well for you.

As it's only a 4 conductor 3.5mm plug you could get a splitter for £5 that would enable you to plug the headset, including mic, into either a sound card or your motherboard (if it has decent audio) or even a headphone amp for the audio and plug the mic into your motherboard.

The virtual surround sucks. I never use it. But the headphones themselves are surprisingly good quality as is the microphone. I use them for streaming on Twitch and no one has complained about the sound quality of the microphone at all.

I actually listen to quite a lot of music on them as well and I have no complaints whatsoever. I actually own two pairs because I like them so much for the price.

Although I am thinking of upgrading to a more expensive headset since I got some money for Christmas.
