Scenario: I'm approaching a mini roundabout and see a car to my right poodling along at 15-20mph at a fair distance and i know i'll be long gone before he even enters the roundabout. Hes in an Impreza and obviously accleration is going to be good, so he decides to 'prove' a point and nails it to the point where his bonnet is almost into my rear door but he stops and lays on the horn instead. If he had hit me, since he was on my right whose fault would it have been? If i had cut him off knowingly i'd have apologised but i knew at the rate he was going i'd be gone definetly.

Your fault imo. In the eyes of the law anyway.

Edit: at a 'fair' distance? He'd have to have a lot of power to make a lot of ground in such a short period of time.

Without witnesses, probably yours as it would appear that you entered the roundabout before it was clear.

I guessed that. There would have been a lot of witnesses however, i reckon even then i technically did cut him off so it would be my fault regardless as witnesses don't have speed guns etc.. to prove he nailed it to, what in my opinion was quite a bit over the limit.

Doesn't matter, you effectively cut him up.
I've sped up joining roundabouts to prevent people joining in front of me at the next entrance.
If it works, awesome. If not, beep beep!

I tried it with a bus recently and it didn't work :(

If it had happened and there were witnesses to confirm what the OP said then one could argue that the imprezza sped up to intercept him. I know it's all technicalities but, if the OP joins the roundabout when it's safe and the impreza then makes it unsafe just to prove a point, well I'd say the impreza is at fault.

Pretty sure it would still be your fault to be honest, at the end of the day its give way to the right and you would have to be cutting it pretty close for them to be close enough to floor it into you.

If I can see a slow car approaching the roundabout/junction and I know there is enough time to pull out I'll only ever go out of it if I know for sure that I can get out without causing any change in the other persons driving.
That means there must be a clear entry to wherever I want to go and I'll be in the right gear which will allow me to carry on accelerating at a faster rate than the other car, should they decide to speed up.

People who pull out in front of someone only to end up straight behind another car (not saying this about anyone in this thread) annoy me because they've pulled out for no apparent reason and they're going nowhere because they're stuck behind somebody else! Or those that pull out really quickly to get in front then don't even do the speed limit (providing it is safe to do so) - why the **** are they so keen to pull out if they're going to dawdle along like they've got a **** in their mouth?

If you're on the roundabout, you have right of way over anything not yet on the roundabout...

Not exactly the same scenario as the OP but....
I was on a roundabout (large 2 lane) and some old doris comes onto it from my left and cuts across into me (I'm on the inside lane) and impacts the rear n/s door.
I thought "she's come from my left whilst I was on the roundabout and hit into me so is 100% at fault" but she didn't admit liability and both insurance companies stated that as it was on a roundabout and no independant witnesses then it goes down as a 50/50!
Was fuming to say the least.
