My mum's kitchen got flooded by washing machine long term leak, ending in burst pipe.
Insurance company will cover it and there's £250 excess to pay.
Is it normal to pay that money to the assigned contractor firm before they will do anything?
I'd always thought the insurance company will do all the financial side and that excess fee is paid to them on completion of job , then they square up with the contractor....
Any experience? I've never had to do a claim. Touch the proverbial wood.
