Guys does anyone own one of these cars? I bought one recently and its brilliant except for one thing, its so bumpy like one of the most unsmooth cars I've ever experienced, I'm pretty sure my previous 13 year old Megane was smoother actually.

I know nothing about cars really so my question is, for what is considered a "sports car" is this normal, like something to do with the tuning of the suspension for speed? or does it sound more like there's a problem?

Yeah it's pretty jarring! Look at mine in the show us your motors thread. That's a TSIII with even stiffer suspension and over pot holes, well, I avoid them at all costs!

do you have a link to that post mate? didnt even know of the TSIII so niceee! Thanks for the reply, I don't know if I'm disappointed or re-leaved, if its normal then nothings wrong but at the same time if its normal then its nothing that can be fixed haha :D ah well! great looking cars for the money, not as fast as I expected though for the 2L engine.

I have just sold my Gen 3 V6 version and yes, the suspension is very firm on all the Hyundai coupés. You should join the UKHCC forum (UK Hyundai coupe club) as those guys know there stuff when it comes to Hyundai coupes. I really loved my coupe but start a new job soon which comes with a company car so it had to go. If I do find myself needing another car I would get an Siii or TSiii as they are lovely car with great interior and exterior.

My wife has a facelift 2.0L Gen3 Coupe and I love the suspension, but then I like the suspension in my Type R Civic as well. The Coupe really does handle very well, but it's not a great choice for people that want to waft around in ultimate comfort. The only thing the Hyundai really needs is about double the power.

That's why I went for the V6 engine even though it is only 170bhp and was quite slow off the line. I replaced the paper air filter with a K&N panel filter which gave it a bit more poke lower down in the revs but the car comes alive around 3000-3500 revs and is the best car I have had for motorway driving. On the 2.0 litre engine, again, replacing the air filter for a nice K&N filter for around £30 should improve responsiveness slightly and improve fuel economy according to others who have done it. To make the car sound wonderful you only need to take off the resonator and tubing from behind the front bumper/behind passenger wheel arch (everything that goes into the air filter box). That along with a K&N filter makes the car throaty but not over the top chavy.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I feel a bit better knowing that things seem as they were intended and at least its normal. Im a bit disappointed with the bumpiness and power but really when it boils down to it the car looks fantastic outside and in, since I got the car i've had nothing but compliments and the ladys love it so im happy enough :D I also must pick up one of those K& N filters, good shout!
