Hi Guys,

Ive connected my Hyundai N91W and Xbox 360 via the official Microsoft VGA cable. Ive gone through all of the settings in the Xbox dashboard for screen resolution and screen format, however in widescreen mode it doesnt seem to be true widescreen.

Screen objects such as speedometers in Project Gotham or the EA Sports logo are all oval shaped stretched vertically, rather tthan true circles.

Can anyone tell me why this is? If I set it from widescreen to full screen it looked horribly skewed and worse.

What resolution and screen format are you guys using?

Thanks in advance.

It's because widescreen computer monitors tend to have a width to height ratio of 16:10 whilst things like games and movies consider widescreen to be the ratio 16:9. Your monitor is stretching it out of aspect ratio to fill the extra vertical space, as you say.

Have a look in the monitor's on screen display and see if there are options for scaling (fixed aspect, 1:1, or similar). If there aren't then there's not much you can do. This is the issue that's putting me off the new BenQ 24".

Top bloke, I knew it was going to be something like that. Dont get me wrong, it really does look fantastic you know, the only time you notice it is with perefct circles looking slighlty elongated on the vertical, but the rest of the image doesnt look stretched at all.

Thanks a lot :)
