Hi,

I bought this monitor from Overclockers just over a month ago and have been plauged by problems with the monitor. OC sent me to Hyundai customer support who have sent no fewer than two replacement monitors and all of them have been faulty in some way.

The first two had this problem : Shrinking Screen

and the current one has a problem with a band down the left hand side where the colours are more blue at the top of the band and more green/yellow at the bottom, in addtion to the 1st problem but much less severe. It wouldent be so much of a problem if i diddnt need accurate colors for work (i got this monitor because i wanted a crt and it has a color matching profile)

Does anyone have any ideas for sorting this out before i go to customer services and demand a refund and get another monitor. Ive tried different drivers and different computers and the bar is still there.

I've had exactly the same response from hyundai (including the dodgy german phone number). Neither hyundai or overclockers are willing to help and even accused me of messing THEM about.

It makes me wonder why overclockers have the reputation they have for customer service as i've been passed from pillar to post, been accused of foul play and i still have a faulty monitor.

At this point all i want to do is return this monitor and get a different model as from what i've seen on the internet the imagequest crts are nothing but trouble and now i know that the support given is terrible aswell

I did think that it was the gfx card but then i tried it on 3 different computers with different gfx cards and in different locations on different power circuits and the problems still exists.

As a side note i've got another replacement monitor and it still has problems with shrink (4mm round each side when going from desktop to fullscreen firefox with google as the site).

I might just call it a day, accept that i've been screwed out of ~£90 (including delivery and cost of calls) and just go for another monitor.

According to Hyundai they dont cover this under warranty unless it shrinks many inches (you heard that, your display could shrink by over an inch and could still be considered in full working order!)

Overclockers in no fewer words told us to "take our business elsewhere" when we asked (thats right just asked not demanded or in raised voices) about the possibility of returning the monitor and paying for an upgrade.

Very unsatisfactory. The only upside is that Jessica at repairtech basically bent over backwards to find out what was wrong and investigate the problem personally, props to her.
