Hello OCUK community.
I purchased this monitor about 1 year ago from OCUK. At the time of purchase I had 1 green dot located in the middle of the screen. I contacted OCUK to get it exchanged but was advised that I needed to speak to Hyundia. Unfortunately I was unable to get Hyundai to replace the monitor. I now have 3 dead green pixels in the center. I have contacted them and received their policy on dead pixels. Hyundia's Policy is that you must have a minimum of 10 dead pixels located ANYWHERE on the screen before they will replace it. I queried this and it also relates to positioning. I understand most companies have a policy where if there is more than X number in the center they replace it, but with Hyundia, you may have up to 10 in the center before they replace the panel.

Can anyone please advise me on what to do with this.

Regards

Callum

Who from Hyundai has told you this? Because in a word, the policy is much more complex then that - type of pixel first, then location of pixel, then number of pixels.

Who did you call to get this information??

I have the same problem, bought my B71A round about christmas time and it came with a pixel which is perminatly blue. Since then its developed some more dead pixels top right hand corner. I also read that there policy was 10+ dead pixles for it to be exchanged or fixed. :( Only benefit is that it has a 3year guarrentee

well I called the number on the model on your website. It put me through to some repair center who advised me to contact HYUNDIA customer services directly, this was due to the monitor still being within warranty period. All I can remember was that the number had an woman with an English accent, and before I could speak to her I was put through an automated telephone service which advised me that I need my model and serial number or they would be "unable to assist me, if you have these details press 1". Unfortunatley as I am home at the moment, and have the number on my workpad at my job I will be unable to advise you till tomorrow.

Basically I queried on the location as it appears on the center of the screen. She went away, asked me if it was a 19inch monitor, I advised her yes it was. She then advised me that you can have up to 10 pixels (subpixel or normal pixel didnt matter) and I queried if their location was on the center of the screen. She advised me the location didn't matter.

From your reply, I would get the feeling she told me incorrectly.

I understand that the information is not quite complete, but I will re-post tomorrow when I have the details from work.

Regards for your quick reply

Callum
