About two months ago I decided to build my own. After several posts with specs I decided to start collecting old PCs from mates and a Girl.

My best model, an old TIME athelon 900mhz (from the latter) declined to turn on tonight.

I deftly plunged in and changed the power supply with one from a mates garage.

I am now typing happily on the old windows me machine and feeling like a tech head.

Humble beginings.

tbh, real tech heads use Windows 2000.

and they don't post on noob forumz like OcUK.

Nice try though :p

You might get more plaudits in General Hardware for this achievement. General Discussion is pretty much as it says, a random assortment of stuff and quite frequently nonsense but very little actually relates to computers. :)

i may risk loosing one of my 2 wonderful cool points but....

My new usb wireless device isnt supported by Windows me.....(I read it wrong)

however.......I am keeping it for when I manage to blag an xp box from someone.

Oh and I also pulled my RAM about, replaced the motherboard speaker and squirted dead PSU dust away with compressed air........

(takes a bow)

You're not cool on the internet until you have an anti-myspace blog, had your witty post quoted in someone's signature, and told [TW]Fox to shut the **** up. :)

I'm sure that the first post was just searching for approbation from you so now chrispystix will no doubt be happy to know the direction you wish him to take. :p

Right... I have my own blog, someone once quoted me saying something witty (but someone else once quoted me saying something dumb, so that kinda cancels out), now I just need to find [TW]Fox...
