I took the plunge and have now switched to Ubuntu from Vista. I am a bit of a Vista fan, but it is hard to justify using the bloated OS now that I don't really game. I tried Kde and Xubuntu but i really do prefer Gnome.

Just popped in to say hello as i'm sure i'll have plenty questions.

ps. Amarok is awesome!!!! :D

i have made the switch but usually alternate between different distro's to find the best one and to gain a bit of experience. i've had the most luck with fedora at the moment. but im really looking forward to intrepid ibex. that should be pretty good. any beta testers out there got any feedback?

edit: how do you put your distro in your profile?

using intrepid ibex here.. latest beta is very solid - everything ive tried has worked fine. go on.. do a "update-manager -d" and try it! :p

the new default wallpaper is very nice.. and a few other nice touches

Good on ya.

Now go treat yourself to something with the £100 you've saved by not having to pay for a new OS every other year :)
