http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/29/intel_penryn_4ghz_with_air_cooling/When are the new 45nm chips due? I want to get new hardware, but I know new far better chips are round the corner!
Any dates, benchmarks(reliable)?
THANKS
Back to the waiting state then :/ The gain is too much to ignore
sure they'll run a bit faster than a kentsfield but until software catches up, there's not that much difference really especially for gaming.
still 3mths away also.
Even when they are finally released expect the prices to be jacked up for a few months. If you want to build a PC now and have the funds you might as well go ahead and do it now. The CPUs by Intel available now are very good and priced quite well.
3.6ghz penryn is like a 4ghz Q6600
