Why why why Will Smith? Why not Clive Owen?

I Am Legend is such a brilliant story, but Hollywood as usual have probably massacred it.

You really have to read the book, its got a great twist at the end. I hope they haven't changed it.

I dunno, Will Smith is a good actor but I'm just not sure he can pull this off. Maybe Clive Owen was a bad example, I'm just trying to pick an actor who fits the profile of the character in the book.
