I had a Sony Vaio of similar spec. It was the noisiest thing I have ever owned. Maybe it was because the sound was amplified by sitting right next to it, but I'm sure it was louder than my XBox360 too.

Hi mate

I have 2 of these:)Mine only have the standard 6800 go versions.Older games like warcraft 3 hl1 ect run fine, Newer games like hl2 you may need to lower the res a bit to get playable fps.
Overall there great machines asides from the 1hr50mins of battery life lol:p
Any questions give me a shout!

Sniper123, does the wifi card support WPA2 encryption or does it just do wpa/wep level encryption? Have you had any problems with yours at all?

Not sure about the wireless card since it doesn't show any advance options to configure it.
The only problem I've had is 1 of the PSU apdaters failed so I had to pay almost 50 pounds for a new 1:(

The fan can be pretty loud when cpu is 100% loaded (About 75C)

The laptop is generally quiet unless playing games. You can fit a dell 7800GTX instead of the 6800Ultra as an upgrade and mine played TF2 at 1680x1050 at about 40fps+ before the upgrade.

The SD memory card reader does not read class 6 SD cards and i managed with high capacity 9 cell batteries (from Japan) on lowest power options to make them last 2hours and 20 mins.

Great Laptops
