I am Stuck on HL1 :(

as I recall, and given your in-depth and accurate description of where you are stuck.....

you have to go back up to the control booth to spin the turntable with the flatbed traincar on it.

Then, ride the car to the next level ;)

Wolfman Jack is I believe correct!

Also the reason it plays random music from your CD is because when HL1 came out originally, all in-game music came from the CD rather than MP3 tracks :)

I played this properly today for the first time too after doing EP1 & 2 yesterady. I actually really enjoyed it, and back in the mid 90's it must have really been something else. Had to check a FAQ once but it is quite straight forward I found \o/

I got proper frustrated by the Pit Beast. Took me a while to figure that out, but that's the only point where i got stuck for any amount of time.

Which version are you playing? The original or the Source version?

I'd personally like the Source verions of HL and Blueshift but they dont do a package for this only the original.

Blue Shift returns to the setting and events of the original game, but portrays the story through the eyes of a security guard, Barney Calhoun, employed by the Black Mesa Research Facility. After a scientific mishap causes Black Mesa to be invaded by aliens, Calhoun must fight his way to safety. The game received mixed although mostly positive reception. Many reviewers were critical of the short length of the game and the lack of new content, although the inclusion of a High Definition pack that upgraded the models and textures in both Blue Shift and the preceding Half-Life games was praised.

I haven't actually played it myself but i hear its stupidly short from my brother, which that extract reinforces
