Have you ever encountered someone using this phrase? Mostly Americans only i hope... Please tell me iit hasn't worked it's way Into UK culture?

I witnessed it in New York first hand and it usually came from richer acting/,looking women down to service/staff in shops restaurants.
I remember how overly fake and condescending it sounded, but that's probably how I interpret "appreciate" compared to "thanks" lool but I am sure all British English speakers feel the same? Tbh a lot of pleasant America seems fake to me anyway :p

I just got reminded of it from a YouTube video and I've had it said to me in Sweden a couple of times by younger people that are polluted by American English culture.

Anyway... Just yapping. I did a AI dive on where it comes from and it hinted West coast USA and there was a few "complaints" how people on Hawaii were saying it too :p even Ted lasso was famed for it .

Please resume your normal doom scrolling and feel free to appreciate this thread. I wrote it without my glasses on too for extra comprehension fail.

I noticed this a few months ago and it seems to be every call these days!

I remember the first few times mentioning to my wife how weird it was.

There is also the “ofcourse” response from yanks when thanking them for something.

“Thanks for the support”

“Ofcourse!”

Anyone been to a gender reveal? That feels like something that has somewhat bled into UK culture as of late.
