Yep is does but I've personally never had a CPU just die on me and never seen posts from others either so providing it works from the start and unless you kill it with volts then lap away I say

what i dont understand is lapping helps reduce temps, so why arent all cpus lapped by manufacturers, why do they insist on putting excessive chunks of metal on top?

it also doesn’t really reduce temps, the same thermal energy is dissipated in the same way, but it just it more even. Yes they may be a touch cooler due to increased efficiency, but in the end of the day there processes are specified to work with the stock cooler below 70 degrees ish, they don’t care about overclockers, as that invalidates warranty so they don’t have to worry bout giving you a free cpu.

I think, as lapping helps lower tempratures and should help the longevity of your cpu then it should not invalidate the warrenty .

Anyway, was just wondering as my cores seem quite uneven as 2 cores are about 4c higher then the other 2. Maybe I should re paste them and see if it helps as I'm only at 3.2gh on my CPU and my max prime temp is 67c.

I have almost 10 degrees difference 54,55,48,47 under small FFT. 4 degrees isn’t that bad a difference, so I wouldn’t think you would need to lapp it
