So here it is:

Can you tell what it is yet?

How about now?

Well, let me explain...
Every tiny still image, roughly 3mm x 8mm, represents 1 second in a film and every line represents 1 minute and there are 154 lines. A whole film on one poster.

You lot are a clever bunch so I guess that you have realised it is Pulp Fiction. :D

Now I just need to figure out how to hang it because framed it weighs a few kg!

I am tempted to buy another one or two because I think they are very cool.

Flare.

Cheers guys :)

I should add that the artist is Brendan Dawes and each film is limited to 100.

Each image is very detailed, you get a magnifying glass with it. Even without the magnifying glass you can clearly see which scene it is and follow the images.

It is 33 inches by 20 inches, a bit bigger when framed.

The cool thing about these is that the length of the film dictates the height of the poster.

A selection from the Cinema Redux series has been exhibited at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York and has been purchased by them for their permanent collection

Oh and it is from the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester, literally around the corner from me. They have some amazing and very limited and hard to get hold of art of all types.

Brendan Dawes has done the following films:

2001: A Space Oddyssey Which has amazing colours.
Annie Hall
Back to the Future
Blade Runner
Blow Up
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Dr No
Jaws Great colours with lots of blue and the odd splash of red...
Kill Bill vol. 1
Taxi Driver
The Big Lebowski
The Dark Knight
The Graduate
The Terminator
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Check out some of the other stuff on there, amazing.

A few personal favorite artists who do brilliant alternative film posters are Brandon Schaefer, Ibraheem Youssef & Alien Corset all of which are stocked by the gallery.

Here are 3 Ibraheem Youssef prints I have coming from America (which you will only understand if you have seen the films):

And yes there is a bit of Quentin Tarantino them going on...

:D

Thats is awesome. Where do you get it framed?

Very tempted!

The shop has frames for them. The frames are not cheap though, £60 because the frames are custom made due to the fact the posters are all different/odd sizes. They do have a huge one in the shop which is about 5 ft tall, i'll try and grab a picture of it next time I am in, i think it is a Back to the Future one.

there must be a script that can take a video file and output an image file of frames like that...

Bit far to pick one up though! Might ask them if they will hip frame and poster.

Create your own with this program

http://www.andreaplanet.com/andreamosaic/download/

It allows you to create 1 main image from screenshots of films that you've ripped to your PC. I created one for an event which had a Superhero theme. Printed it out on A2 at work and you could tell clearly which images were from which films.

Same sort of style to them as the Star Wars Themed posters when they released the original remastered series around 1998 when i was at uni. Ones like this http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Poster-Yoda-Mosaic/dp/B001944TGM
