So I bought 2 batches of Tygon tubing from OCUK This stuff I bought some a while ago and got it through no probs. Then I wasnt sure if I had enough. I noticed OCUK had some more in so I bought a couple more meters just to be sure. Got it through today with my shiny new fans and fan controller :)

But I compared the tubing to the stuff I already had and well this is the result.

The pic on the right was the first lot. Which also feels a lot more rigid. The one on the left is what I got today feels a lot more flexible. I got no fixings to try them out (still awaiting delivery from the good old USA) but I mean they look and feel completely different :( should I be worried about this ?

I wouldn't be happy with that, has to be different spec tubing with regards to internal and external diameters.

should I be worried about this ?

Not really, just a different wall thickness. However if you're going to use compression fittings then it might be a problem where they don't clamp well. It could just be a tubing mixup and you've got two different sizes.

Try and measure the ID's and see what the difference is.

It's happened to me before aswell, but they wanted me to pay postage to return an item that cost £3 in the first place so i just kept it.

I measured it with a ruler. The best measuring device I have around the house at the moment :p ID's are the same ~11.5mm (keeping in mind ruler...) The OD being different though :( On the older stuff (right side) ~16mm on the stuff I got today ~15mm.

If your using barbs it won't be a problem as the id seem to be the same. If your using compressions try one out and see if the collar makes a propper seal, it will tighten more than a collar on the thicker tubing. The thinner tubing should bend easier but may kink more. If your not happy, sure ocuk would help you out :)

I suppose if using compression fittings if it doesn't seal as well as the thicker tubing you could just fold some paper and wrap it round to make it a bit fatter so the fitting will seal properly :)

Tygon normally has the product name/code printed on the tubing itself. IS there any sign of any?

no problems :)
might be worth sending a webnote to the returns team too.
tell them you have spoken to me on the forums

rjk, I got the RMA note so I will try get the tubing sent to you tomorrow morning. Just wondering though how long I am likely to be waiting for replacement ?

ok awesome. Replied to your email also :)

I'm happy enough to wait if you have a replacement on its way.

Will send the tubing back tomorrow morning hopefully.
