My iPhone 2g...had it nearly 2 years, got it from the states, dropped it loads of times and today and I dropped it from 2ft onto a concrete floor and it did this...

Joys!

So I'm considering my options.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get a replacement piece of glass? (I'm handy with a screw driver)

Claiming on the insurance and putting that towards a 3GS (as these are now useable on other networks) (I'm on T-Mobile)

Nabbing a 3G off the bay of E and getting that working on my network.

But my main question to you OcUK people is can this be repaired? if not, how much is it worth?

Thanks,
Jake :)

I think the screen includes the digitisers which have to be replaced with the screen.

And I believe it's about £140 odd, though better let others confirm this.

My old 2g looks exactly the same, bought another screen protector and still works fine. Yes the screen is cracked but 100% functionality still exists. Now resides in the glovebox in my car hooked up to the head unit :)

Gonna contact insurance company today to see if they will give me anything towards a new iPhone. Would love a 3GS :D

The glass is like stuck onto the touchscreen/digitiser thing. A friend said he tried to replace his and he had to pick off all the glass it didnt come off in one piece, he couldnt do it so he sent it away to be fixed. Cost him a few quid too.

Bad luck! I love the 2G iphones with the metal back, have had mine for almost two years now too.
