Ok, I know this is not a piece of software although it is dependent on one and did not think it fitted too well in "General Hardware".

I maybe behind the times but I have only just heard of them and think they are awesome... the kind of gadget everyone should have on their desk
Essentially, they sit on your desk/monitor and respond to changes within your Windows Live Messenger.
If a friend signs in, their heart flashes, if you get a message their wings flash.... if someone sends you a smiley face.. well, they dance around, flash their lights and flap their wings - LOL
