ARGHHH, Sorry, but you don't need to go anywhere near HDR to do the type of fix your talking about. Layer masks and the shadow/highlight tools work fine. Eg. The join between the two layers is rubbish but its just proving you dont need HDR to do it. Nice pictures BTW. Beautiful skies.

Basicly just having all parts of an image exposed correctly, without any parts underexposed or overexposed.
