I currently have a level 70 raiding shadow priest - which I will soon retire (well, the second WOTLK comes out anyways).

I am currently in the process of leveling a Warlock (they are even more appealing to me they are becoming harder to use - especially in raids in the upcoming expansion).

I am also going to use a Death Knight as a main (for off tanking, and basically because I always wanted a plate class).

BUT I also want a rogue for fun - mostly for PVP. Note, I am *not* talking Arena, I mean just Alterac Valley type of things (in other words mass PVP) and maybe the odd bit of PVE if I get bored. I was thinking of Human (I am afraid all my friends and guild plays Alliance, and I can't convince them to switch to Horde for Wrath).

So I guess the question is, human are better than Night Elves for Rogues right? Because of perception and the expertise rating they have? (I can't bring myself to be a gnome... so please don't mention one :p).

Thanks for any comments.

Human is the best in Arenas imo for perception - it can decide 2v2 encounters on its own sometimes.

For Battlegrounds, Id say its less of a clear winner as BGs are so chaotic perception is harder to use and time correctly, particularly AV.

Basically the fewer the number of people in a BG/arena, the better perception gets.

Have you thought about Dwarf? Stoneform is pretty good for getting rid of nasty effects that prevent you from vanishing (amongst other things) and is already quite useful. Another mark in Stoneforms favor is that come WotLK there will be a lot of DK's running around, and they will be inflicting their disease type effects which Stoneform can remove. Ill be making a Dwarf DK with that in mind =)

If it were me rolling now It would be a toss up between Human and Dwarf on Alliance side.

You say that now but even if you don't enjoy arena I can pretty much guarantee you will dabble in it as the arena gear is superior. Makes bging a lot more fun :)

If you're going for a PvP rogue then Undead is by far the best choice - Will of the Forsaken is the best PvP racial ability by far.

Orc stun resist is pretty awesome too. a lot of undead characters say they'd rather have it. Swings and roundabouts =)

Tbh just go with the race you like the most, especially if you are just doing casual PvP. I would regret spending loads of time leveling a char I hated the look of.

I second that. For me it's what the character is going to look like in a full set of matching armor. My gnome warrior has such a gimpy face but he has s3 helm on which looks badass so it doesn't matter.

I ended up going with a human in the end :p I did make a rogue previously but stopped at around level 22 or 23, this time I am enjoying it a little more though (managed to get it to level 6 or 7 last night).

i'm with the horde perhaps we can have a horde OCUK team going if there isn't one.

My D&D guild all had alliance alts and couldn't persuade them to roll horde but to be honest I hate playing alliance characters mainly for the lack of character "stormwind" etc.

Origrammar and Underworld are simply nicer places who likes the dwarves starting place that looks like a snow globe?

Durotar > * :D

We just need to choose a server :D
