Here's an odd one

last night, i changed a bios setting
just changed the default DDR clock to "3600"
and in windows i changed my AMD graphics to "GPU Overclock"

PC will boot into windows fine etc
but pressing delete when booting no longer accesses the bios, i just get a blank screen

any ideas please?

thanks

Hold shift while clicking reboot in windows, it should reboot into a menu. I think it’s then troubleshoot, advances startup options and reboot to uefi

Did you by any chance change the monitor/display settings to something like "Deep Color", "Fast Response" (Freesync etc) or anything like that? There's some instances where once that happens the monitor doesn't head to BIOS again ever until you switch it off again.

Did you hold shift while clicking restart? That suggests you pressed shift afterwards.

ah!
ill try again, thanks

nope, nothing of the sort

I'm still having problems

Troubleshooting didn't help

I then reset bios

Got locked out of windows, luckily i could get to my emails on my phone as I had to send a code

Still can't get into bios though

Years ago you could get access to the BIOS my forcing a "Keyboard Error" i.e, not having the keyboard plugged in when you boot. Don't know if that still works with more modern PCs though?

i don't think my cmos is being reset

i m checking via CPUz, and its still faster than it should be, its certainly not default speed

Not sure if you doing steps correct.

1. Shutdown PC and power off then unplug power cord.
2. Use a jumper cap to short JBAT1 for 5-10 secs then remove jumper cap.
3. Plug power cord and power on PC, you should able to enter into BIOS.

If that still not work try shutdown PC and power off then remove CMOS battery for 1 min and put battery back in. You should able to enter in BIOS.

I'm pretty sure this will be of no help but just in case......

I went through a period of weeks without seeing my boot screen/bios. Not a problem though. I didn't need or attempt to enter the bios. Windows appeared and worked just fine.
On my graphics card I had wo monitors connected. Only one of which I ever switched on and used. By chance, I used the other monitor one day. Lo and behold the boot/bios screen was seen during the boot up to windows.
Only one monitor was showing the boot/bios.

I'll get me coat ;)
