I had exactly the same card delivered last week and I too didn't have the adapter within the box? Lucky for me I have a modular Hiper Type-R PSU which comes with the correct adapter..!!
Not very good though I would have hoped for some adapter for power for what you pay..!!

I emailed OCUK about this when I first got mine, I assumed the cable was missing from the box rather than not part of the package.

The kind people of OCUK sent me a replacement :)

did you buy a retail card or a oem model? If it was retail then it should have come with the cable required. If oem then it come with nothing at all. (I know I got a OEM model)

just got a message from ocuk, weird that some people get a free molex i get told to buy a new psu.

Dear ,

If you need the PCI-E to Molex converter then I can guarantee your power supply will not be up to the job of powering this video card. Please visit this website:

If your power supply is not on this list then it will probably not work

Of course it will work, what a suprise my PSU is not on that list, and what am i running fine with no probs, well blow me down its an x1800 XT, tis you know, amazing eh, if its a decent wattage PSU it'll run it fine with the adapter, we all know why you were told to buy a new PSU anyway. ;)

I think Manufactures stopped sending Power adapters a while back, It will at least make people think about their PSU abilities !!

Good tip with Power supplies don't read the writing Just feel the weight ;)

That is quite frankly horse **** and whoever wrote it doesn't know what they are talking about.

Demand they send you a converter.

I'd imagine their are plenty of PSUs that aren't on that list but will still happily power a x1900xt provided you have the correct adapter. What rating is your PSU?

Edit - heh, just noticed my PSU isn't on the list either. Not worth reading that.

Sadly I don't think you'll be able to insist they supply one - it seems a lot of companies don't include them with their cards any longer.

OCUK sell suitable adapters here:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Other_Cables.html

You want the "Akasa PCI Express 6 Pin to 4 Pin Power cable adaptor for PCI-E Graphics Cards (CB-018-AK)"

I got a retail HIS x1900xt and although with my luverly 620w Enermax Liberty I didn't need it, I was surprised to find it didn't come with a Molex to PCI-E adapter, especially considering it came with an excellent cable bundle.

OMFG STFU! They really do talk a load of ****.

That list's also for using crossfire, rather than just single cards afaik.

I hope that's not the case, but then I have never heard of a card not coming with an adapter in the box unless it's OEM. My Sapphire X1800XT came supplied with one.

Like you said though, if he can't get one then they're cheap enough on OcUK.

What makes me laugh most is how that is a list of Crossfire rated PSUs, and it's not even a complete list by a mile. The guy is only trying to connect an X1900XT up.
