First,slide the hd caddy out completly.
You have to slot them in at a 45 degree angle.Put one side in,so the pins locate in the hard drive,then push the other side down,you have to bend the hd caddy a little.
I struggled with mine too,untill the girlfriend walked over,looked at the instructions,picked it up,and fitted it first time...women,always reading the instructions!!

Just take the whole caddy out and look at it. It's the same case as i've got. It's only a case of putting one side in, then pulling the side of the caddy out a bit so you can see what you're doing and putting the other in. I've got 3 hard drives in mine, the SSD mounting was the hardest .
I'm sure the little rubber bits come out too.
