I can't get to sleep

Im the total opposite, I fall asleep constantly... I mean during the day ill just drop off, whether at home or work, one minute ill be doing something (well sat there) next im asleep and need waking :D

Ive got some form of that Aponea or something as the Mrs films me on her Ipad2 and im snoring, then i stop breathing and stuff. Then im awake and normal, then minutes later im soundo again - quite funny to watch actually, as to me ive never even fallen asleep!

Ok, so yesterday I fell asleep at around 2:30 again. When I woke up it was 8 so I told myself and interesting like story in my head and fell asleep for another hour. Why can I only do this in the morning?

I've never got how it can take some people so long to fall asleep. With me, no matter what I eat or do, I can hit that pillow and be out in a few minutes.

I cant sleep unless im at a comfortable temperature, which means i have my 20" fan on most nights and mostly though the day as well because its been too warm lately.

Thin cover too helps, also dont cover your feet keep them uncovered to keep the body temp down.

Nothing to eat or drink 1-2 hrs im not sure which, to help make sure your body isnt doing work when its not suppose to when trying to get to sleep.

Don't watch anything on pc or tv for 30 mins then try to sleep as going straight from watching something then trying to sleep is hard because your mind is still in active mode and needs time to wind down.

Music helps, bit of pink floyd or any slow long playing tracks that will mellow you out. Keep the volume low so its more background music and not really the volume where you want to listen to everything in a track i.e vocals or beats.

Worst comes to worst buy a bottle of night ol or whatever it is that helps knock you out. Only if really cant get to sleep over a number of days and you need a good sleep. Not tried it myself but hear it works wonders, either Night Ol or Night Nurse.

Oh with regards to background music, their are some some sleeping specific cd's you can get that do delta waves or somit which is suppose to help get you to sleep by i think relaxing your mind scientifically.

go to youtube, select tv shows, search for the ufo channel, job done. I'm 100% serious, some of the stuff on that channel sends me off in 10 minutes or less!

Hope theres not a small hole in your skirting board? this troll likes to suck out the breath of young kids while they sleep.

Just need a cat to deal with that!

For a 12 year old you definitely spend far too much time on your PC. Go outside and run about or go cycling or climb a tree or something. Burn off some energy as you burn hardly any sitting in front of a monitor and being rubbish at computer games. ;)

i've just remembered another technique i saw during a documentary. it works on the same principal as flux, but it works no matter what your doing.

in the morning, make sure the lights are really bright. open the curtains, turn all the lights on around you, etc. in the late afternoon (probably about 4pm) start making things darker. turn off whatever lights you can (if your looking at a tv screen/computer monitor then leave the light on in the room your in). more importantly put on some dark sunglasses at around this time. the lower light levels will make your brain think its evening before it actually is, making you feel tired later too.

also, now that its the evening and your parents are likely to help you, ask them to help you find something interesting to read at night. a good hour of reading makes me really tired and want to go to sleep.

not having done much reading when i was twelve i cant recommend you much, but as i said before the terry pratchett juveniles and skullduggery pleasant are a good place to start. leave the other authors i mentioned until your older though because you'll appreciate them a lot more then
