i cant install my scanner :'(

ok, i have a flatbed scanner - Canoscan N676U and it says its compatible with Mac OS X but i dont know what to do with the driver downloads.

they're downloaded as .bin files and i dont know where to stick them

as they're being opened with VLC as default for some reason

can anyone give me advice on how to install this thing?

nothing, i guess the thing has packed in then! will try and plug it into my PC and see if its working still heh.

i thought it would be as simple as plug it in, but when it didnt work i went a lookin'

EDIT - works on my PC and it says its mac compatible.. but no such luck at all - though it is a bit archaic, its not even on the canon website anymore haha.

yeah, ive downloaded those but they come up as .bin and i have no idea what i'm meant to do with them!!

i'd rather just use my pc than waste a CD for a 2mb bin file haha.
