I cant overclock for ****

Hi,

I have got the following:-

QT6600 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Quad
EVGA 680i Motherboard with latest bios
2x2gb Corsair Dominator 6400
Zalman Resorator V2
Enemax 660w ATX 1.2 PSU

I cant even overclock by 100mhz

Vista crashes early on loading up.

I have upped my voltages on vcore to 1.4v and vdimm to 2.0v, yet no success. My temps never go above 50oC either. this chip should be doing going on 3ghz stable but im just not getting anything out of it.

Which revision of the EVGA is it?

The dominator needs 2.1v @ stock i think.

i have the latest bios off the evga website.

anyone have anymore suggestions?

loosen the memory timings ?!?
take it apart and put it back together again, my be there is some thing not sitiing right ??

is it stable at default ?, check memtest and orthos.

have you tried one stick of memory at a time ?

yep, tried both of those.

ive currently got it stable now at 2.67ghz doing some research.

however my cpu vcore says its 1.40v even when the bios says its been set to 1.45v :confused:

where are you reading the 1.4v from, have you got speed control setup ?

i've had problems with all programs saing that i'm supply 1.45 when i've set it to 1.4, Asus Deluxe board, i think it's just windozs....
