I went on this training course yesterday called "The Art of Brilliance" as I was getting moan by my training department that I've not been on enough training. I thought it was about how I could be better at my job and didn't know it was a soft (hippie) training course.

Well without pimping it, I really enjoyed it. I didn't know that I had the choice of being happy or not. I've have spent far too long wishing for this and that, or trying to change this or that to try and make my life happier. Worst of all I wasn't enjoying life, I was thinking of making it pass the next target, be it getting though a manic monday or getting though the week to go out at the weekend or even finishing projects at work so I can be more chilled, and I lost sight of my life.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate my life, I don't get stressed, I'm not sad. I was just suck in a mood where I just let life tick away.

I choice to be happy as:
1. I have a wonderful girl in my life, its complicated. I would like to think we can be happier but I'm lucky and should be happy with what we have.
2. I have some very loving family members and friends that care for me, and I should really try to care more back.
3. I have a good job, They rely on me a bit too much and everyone thinks that they should be paid more, but at in today's market; its good to feel wanted and be secure in a job.
4. I have no cash issues, sure I don't have my own home but at the same time I don't have to worry about debts or placing food on the table.
5. I have my health, I can wake up in the morning and get up on my on steam and live my life as choice.

To bite a line straight from Kung fu panda...
"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift, and that is why it's called the present."

Nice quote and post :) Does that really come from Kung Fu Panda? I might incorporate that in to my sig.

I admire you optimism. i think the majority of us fail to really appreciate what we have, myself included.

I've had that phrase on a piece of artwork in my office for years, had the piece of artwork about 9 years now - didn't realise KFP had used it!
