i core processors

will know better how the quad cores run it with the beta hopefully, need a new GPU aswell, radeon hd 5700 showing its age

mobo ? a new motherboard i take it ?

Well my birthday is coming up in November, so i was thinking on maybe buying in 2 installments, mobo and processor in november, then save up for a new graphics card for christmas and put it in the case, and possibly sell the old components, i also have an old case with a dual core set up, 9800 gt, probly wouldnt sell for much now though

When is this bulldozer due ? sorry im not high up on tech stuff, much will that cost, will it help greatly in performance with the latest games ? what are things are you planning on purchasing ?

Right thanks for the advice, see how the beta goes, probably wait a few months near christmas, hopefully prices will go down and then get a kick ass machine that will pwn Battlefield 3

you be on CS source later ?

Thanks, yea keep me up to date via PM, steam or whatever, love updating my pc, all my mates play on consoles, but because i need a mouse and keyboard for my FPS RTS needs, cant aim for crap on a controller in shooting games on a console

How do i check what motherboard i have ?

My current set up is

AMD phenom 2 X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz
4 gb of ddr 3 ram im nearly certain its ddr 3 , i can see the ram by looking at the side of my case, it can hold another 2 sticks, so i could have 8 gigs of ram in there, i can see it says HT 3.0 and AM3 where the ram goes
Windows 7
HD radeon 5750

What GPU would be best i wonder 6950, 560 ti or something better ?

wont overclocking shorten the lifespan of the CPU ? or do the positives outweigh the negatives

On the motherboard issue, i have a box here

GIGABYTE 770T-USB3 ultra durable 3 motherboard
AM3 CPU Ready

i believe i have 2 usb 3 ports at the back of my machine.

Any tech guys know if that mobo is any good for future gaming, new batman, battlefield 3, skyrim etc

So can someone tell me then that that current system will run ok with a new gpu, take the 5750 out and say put in the 6950, keep me going in gaming for a while and possibly overclock the cpu ? mainly for battlefield 3 and skyrim

Regarding my current mobo then that supoorts AM3, will it support bulldozer, could go for that and a new graphics chip, if it gives me a significant leap in performance

Ok, so it if happeds the am3 boards will be equivalent or simuilar in performance, dont know whether to go for bulldozer or i5 2500 k
