Because they have age limits and warnings, and because most people have been desensitised to film gore and film violence, so they get gorier and more violent to keep up.

I was actually disappointed in the gore levels after the hype around it. Shouldn't this be in Music & Box Office anyway.

Go watch Wolf Creek. It will scare you so much that you wont ever want to viset Oz :p

Bloody back packers :D

Hostel was a genius film I think, the gore/violence is along the same lines as SAW. That being that it takes a strange individual to think up the story. The whole idea of the film is disturbing, but the actual gore itself isn't too bad imo.

It was terrible... Not gory and not scary in the slightest...

the hills have eyes in more messed up... Double rape with a gun to a babys head anybody?

Anyways yeah, hostel disappointed me bigtime...

When I was a kid, my uncle used to let me watch all the video nasties (just before they got banned). I loved the gore, the the more gore the better.

Now, in my thirties, I'm as squeamish as they come and I won't watch the Kill Bill films due to all the choppings.

I think that is an example against the argument that people always become desensitised upon exposure. I'm more sensitive than I ever was as a kid.

I can't see me watching Hostel.

Yeah me too. One of my mates said "it's the most graphic and disturbing horror I've ever seen", and I got quite excited about it. It wasn't half as gorey as I expected.

I thought the bit towards the end involving those little lads was shockingly poor too. It just didn't work at that point in the film.

OI, I closed this thread so that peeps can use the one already in use, flamin' Dons abusing their power again. :p
