I crashed into a tree stump

I took a wrong turning into the woods yesterday so I had to go slightly off the road to turn around. Unfortunately there was a tree stump in my way which I didn't see. The car mounted the tree stump leaving all the wheels just off the ground. Very embarrassing.

Anyway, a nice man from the RAC came, jacked up the car and put piles of logs we found in the woods under the wheels and then towed me off it.

I am worried I've done damage to the underneath of the car though. He said it'd be ok because the bottom's not exposed, there's some sort of cover, but it doesn't look like it's made of much. I had to drive home for about 80 miles after the 'incident' and nothing bad happened, does that mean it's ok? Or should I get it checked?

That must have been comical for the RAC man, i would have split my sides :p

Depends which part of the car hit, could have cracked the sump, check for oil loss, twisted something, if your lucky you will have trashed a couple of plastic guards and thats it.

That kind of accident is going to leave a big sign if it has damaged anything serious, however even though you've done 80 miles on it i would personally get it checked out, just for peice of mind really.

The thread title makes me think of when hamster crashed in to the ice block on sunday, comical :D
